I come from a hardworking Scots-Irish Catholic family. Our parents had six of us. I endured many years of anxiety and depression. Probably around the first or second grade at school, we had a teacher who had songs we would sing. Songs like “Drill ye terriers drill” and “Home on the range”. The feelings of calm, relaxing enjoyment, and relief from my constant worrying were the feelings that I sought out by writing and playing my own songs in all those six decades of writing melodies and lyrics. I’ve never played in a band but had huge dreams of becoming like my favorite guitarists, like Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin. My dream of becoming a country music singer-songwriter is now what I’m pursuing. One of my greatest moments in life was the birth of my son. He inspires me to be a much better person and to never give up in life’s pursuits. I joined the U.S. Navy in 1978, so I support all veterans’ organizations like the American Legion and the Veterans Administration. I have written approximately 7,000 songs at a minimum estimate over at least 50 genres of music. My family is very influential in my ability to persevere. All the members of my immediate family and my son have taught me that you shouldn’t give up in life.
